Product Description Kennel Cab Fashion Series has all the great features that made the original Kennel Cab wildly popular with pet owners everywhere, plus thoughtful extras that make traveling with your pet even easier. Made of high-impact plastic for years of easy-to-clean use. Engineering grade fasteners are non-toxic, have a high tensile strength greater than steel and resist loosening due to vibrations. Assembles in seconds without any tools. Steel door with dual rod spring-loaded latch that's easy to operate but stays very secure. Seat belt safety slot on roof helps secure carrier in your car. Shoulder eyelet straps that double as a great place to hang an identification tag. storage compartment for leash or treats. Plenty of ventilation--with extended side rail that prevents carrier from sitting flat against wall and blocking air circulation. Recessed top carrying handle with comfort grip coating. Five year limited warranty. Assembly InstructionsThe kennel consists of three parts: plastic top section, plastic bottom section, steel door. Separate two halves and place top half on bottom half. Hold top section as shown and place metal door in opening so ends of hinge and latch rods fit in holes. Lower top section so hinge and latch rod fit into holes. Secure the two halves together with the seven gray snap latches on the top half. It is advisable to check the latches periodically to ensure the halves remain secure especially if the kennel receives heavy use. Cautions Contact Petmate toll free

Our cat carrier of choice January 5, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
In an emergency, you could bundle kitty into a pillow case to take him to the vet's. I've never tried this, but my friend who volunteers for the Humane Society says it does work. However, you are much better off with a pet carrier, and this one is a good size for all but the largest of cats (I go up one size for my 30 lb. Maine Coon).
Another good feature of this particular carrier, is that you can take it apart at the vet's if your cat refuses to come out. You might be surprised at how difficult it is to budge a cat who has all four feet braced against the inside of the carrier.
I recommend getting one Kennel Cab per pet just in case you have an emergency, such as a pending hurricane or fire, and have to move all of your animals at once. This model is easy to stack, and easy to clean.
all right by me !!! October 8, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Petmate makes an excellent pet carrier for multiple uses for your furry little loved ones! This size is perfect for cats and small dogs that weigh up to roughly 16 pounds, and other pets you may have. This four sides of the carrier have plenty of ventilation; and it's easy to carry and easy to assemble/take apart.
In case your pet is skittish about getting out of the carrier when they sense they're at the vet, another reviewer writes that it comes in very handy to have the carrier able to be opened from sides so that the top comes off. That reviewer sure is right! Some pets are extremely reluctant to come out of their kennel carriers. I also love the fact that you can attach the top handle of the carrier to a car safety belt. Excellent!
The plastic is quite strong; and when they say its high impact they sure are right! It also has enough room below the "windows" on each side of the carrier so if your pet has an accident it won't necessary spill out from the carrier onto a car seat or train seat.
I don't know if this is "FAA approved;" but you can call the company using their toll free number to find out. If this carrier is not approved by the FAA, you will not be able to carry your pet onboard an aircraft in this carrier.
Overall, this fine carrier is worth every penny you pay for it--it'll last you forever! It is easy to clean as well. Put down a soft towel or a blanket on the "floor" of the carrier and your little darling is good to go!
Here's hoping your pet uses it in good health!
This carrier has dramatically improved the life of our 18.5 year old cat December 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rambo is 18.5 years old. That's roughly 93 in human. As a kitten, he earned his name and he's not yet ready to give it up--even if it hurts him to fight us coming out of his carrier at his once a week vet visits for pain meds.
The Petmate carrier is great for Rambo because all we have to do is pop the sides. Our vet can check him and give him his shots, which causes a lot less pain and stress for an old man cat who's well earned some respect and dignity.
The carrier is also lightweight, so it doesn't add significantly to Rambo's 12 pounds when he's being carried up the stairs or across a parking lot into the vet's office. I suspect we'll probably replace our other three carriers with the Petmates because they are well worth the expense for our spoiled pets.
Five Stars Plus! June 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The other reviews posted are right on target. There is plenty of ventilation; it assembles and disassembles quick and easy; it's easy to clean; the carrier itself is light so when you put your pet in it, it's not too heavy to carry. I like how Petmate makes the carriers in size stages because while our puppy was growing, we were able to buy the next size up as needed. However, when I thought we bought our "final" carrier, he grew a bit more. He turned out to be taller and longer than typical dogs his breed, and the largest carrier is a bit too cramped for him. Petmate didn't have the size we needed so we had to buy one from another brand/company. It took some searching but I did find one that is comparable in quality and features. My opinion: I highly recommend this carrier.
Nice size crate for Yorkie, easy to assemble. November 8, 2008 Very nice crate, easy to assemble. Just the right size for my Yorkie that is 10" tall and 9" long (weight 6 lbs.). He has room to stretch out and turn around in comfort. Light weight, very roomy. I highly suggest a fleece pet bed liner, makes it warm and comfy.
